Our founding team collaborated with Go Chain, which was one of the leading proud to have collaborated with GoChain, one of the leading blockchain companies. The project was for the election commission of Afghanistan in partnership with the government of Afghanistan. The idea was to apply blockchain in elections to make the process more transparent. The pilot project was highly successful. The stakeholders were extremely pleased with the results. The pilot was an immense success. This was the first time an election pilot blockchain project was successfully done. This paves the way for the use of Blockchain in future elections.
GDC’s expertise in blockchain consultancy and our ability to identify suitable partners for the project were instrumental in the successful implementation of the project. Our collaboration with GoChain is a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional consultancy services to our clients. The main reason for using blockchain in the election system was that providing a transparent and secure voting system is key to gaining back the citizens’ trust. The traditional paper-based or digital voting system has several problems encountered as it is managed by a single organization having full control of the system and database. This organization can tamper with the database and can quickly eliminate the traces.
Furthermore, these systems have also encountered problems with the security of people, security and privacy of data, time consumption, and potential system attacks. In the modern world, it is possible to build a transparent voting system to address these security credentials of current voting systems. The technology which paves the ground for this new generation voting system is called Blockchain. Blockchain is a distributed, transparent and unchangeable database of continually growing data records that ensures the truth of data by providing public inspection of votes cast for a candidate in a secure, anonymous and verifiable way.
